Disability Pride Week is an international annual event that promotes visibility and mainstream awareness of the positive pride felt by people with disabilities within their community.

What does disability pride mean to you?

How could disability pride events help to mobilise support for the dignity and wellbeing of people with disabilities?

Join us to discuss these questions and more in a relaxed, informal setting. All welcome, no prior knowledge required.:)

Wheelchair-accessible. Limited mobility parking but flat street parking available fairly close by. Easy access by public transport, especially by bus directly outside venue, or by train with a short walk from Newmarket station. Plan journey.    

The hui will be NZSL-interpreted.

Background on Disability Pride Week

Disability Pride Week is celebrated from 26 November to 3 December, which is also the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The theme for 2018 is “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”.
